Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) is a destination with something for everyone. Located at Walt Disney World in Orlando, it is walking distance from Old Key West Resort and Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, both part of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts Collection. Features world-class cuisine, shopping at flagship stores and nightly live entertainment at multiple stages and venues. We have put together a list of everything Disney Springs has to offer for family vacation, groups, date nights and nightlife at Disney Springs.
No need to abandon your diet or be concerned about food allergies while on a magical Disney vacation. Due to recent changes at the resorts and at the theme parks, there are now plenty of delicious, allergy-free options available for guests of all ages. With so many people in the world today on special or restricted diets (low fat, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegetarian, vegan, kosher, lactose intolerant, nut, and shellfish allergies, just to name a few), the folks at Disney certainly stepped up to the plate by now offering a multitude of dining options to satisfy just about every possible dietary requirement. With careful planning and attention to menu selections, you will easily be able to find flavorful, healthy, and safe food choices available throughout all of the Walt Disney World parks.
Every day at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you can step back in time and experience a traditional British-style afternoon tea.
Escape to the serene setting of the Garden View Lounge and treat yourself to the tea experience daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Located on the first floor of the lobby of this Disney Vacation Club resort, afternoon tea is the perfect getaway for a Mother/Daughter Date, a Girl's Day Out, a relaxing respite for couples, or a personal break from the hustle and bustle of being at the Disney parks all day. To add to the ambiance, each day at 3 p.m., live music starts to drift throughout the tea room provided by a professional piano performer or the delightfully-distinguished Disney Band.
We already know how awesome Downtown Disney is, but somehow it just got even better! Monday, April 13th, was the grand opening of The BOATHOUSE restaurant located at the Landing, which is a new neighborhood that will soon become part of Disney Springs. It’s their first all-new dining spot that features real, floating dream-boats from the 30s, 40s, and 50s!
When you arrive at Downtown Disney, you need to prepare yourself for the sensory overload that you are about to experience. Between the live concerts at House of Blues, the non-stop action moving all around you, and the overwhelming, intoxicating aroma of over 20 incredible restaurants, you’ll need a few minutes to stop and take it all in. Walt Disney famously said, “I don't want the public to see the world they live in while they're in the Park. I want to feel they're in another world," and at the Downtown Disney restaurants, that is exactly what you’ll get.
