Top 5 Reasons to Stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Villas

Posted by Paul Rotter on Dec 23, 2014 8:38:00 AM

Perhaps one of Disney's most underrated resorts, Wilderness Lodge is the ideal accommodation for memorable family retreats. The scenery and decor seem to transport you to the Pacific Northwest and the experience is so inclusive that you may forget you're actually in Florida!

Even though there is a lot to look at, there's even more to do. Wilderness Lodge offers so many enticing family-oriented recreational activities that you'll want to return year after year.

Evening Campfires

End the day on a high-note with some tunes around a crackling campfire. The entire family will enjoy sing-alongs, story-telling, and roasting marshmallows over an open fire at this old-fashioned entertainment that takes place each night behind the resort.

Buttons and Bells Arcade

Even if you’re not a dedicated gamer, you’ll have a blast racking up some points at the Buttons and Bells Arcade. This entertainment mecca features the most popular family-friendly video games and offers a fantastic bonding experience regardless of age or skill level.

Bike Rentals

Coast along wooded pathways and past trickling streams on covered Surrey bikes which are available for rent. These neat, person-powered vehicles are available with 2, 4, or 6 seats, so the whole family can pile on and go for a scenic ride around the resort.

Boat Rentals

Guests can also take to the water with a variety of boat rentals. Catch a breeze in a 12-foot sailboat, paddle your way to some adventure in a canoe, or captain a motorboat. The powerboats can accommodate up to 10 guests, making this a terrific excursion for large groups interested in spending time out on the water.

The Villas

Wilderness Lodge Villa

The absolute best thing about Disney's Wilderness Lodge is the rustic charm of the villas. The villas feature a cathartic view of the tranquil forest, and the interior decor is consistent with the American western frontier theme. This deluxe studio includes a kitchenette, queen bed, double-size sleeper sofa, and twin-size pull down bed to accommodate up to 5 five adults. One bedroom and two bedroom villas are also available, accommodating up to 8 adult guests.
